Founded in 1974, Universität Osnabrück (Osnabrück University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Osnabrück (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Lower Saxony. Officially recognized by the Niedersächsisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur (Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony), Universität Osnabrück (UOS) is a large coeducational German higher education institution. Universität Osnabrück (UOS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UOS also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
