Established in 1989, Université Catholique de Bukavu (Catholic University of Bukavu) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Bukavu (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), South Kivu. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et Universitaire, République Démocratique du Congo (Ministry of Higher and University Education of the Democratic Republic of the Congo), Université Catholique de Bukavu (UCB) is a small coeducational Congolese higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Catholic religion. Université Catholique de Bukavu (UCB) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
