Established in 1977, Université de Mahajanga (University of Mahajanga) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Mahajanga (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministère de lEnseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique, Madagascar (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Madagascar), Université de Mahajanga (UMGA) is a very small coeducational Malagasy higher education institution.
