Established in 2008, Université Libanaise Internationale en Mauritanie (Lebanese International University of Mauritania) is a for-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Nouakchott (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement Secondaire et Supérieur, Mauritania (Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education of Mauritania), Université Libanaise Internationale en Mauritanie (LIU) is a very small coeducational Mauritanian higher education institution. Université Libanaise Internationale en Mauritanie (LIU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. LIU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
