Founded in 1951, Université Méthodiste au Katanga (Katanga Methodist University) is a private higher-education institution located in the large town of Mulungwishi (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Haut-Katanga. This institution also has a branch campus in Kamina. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et Universitaire, République Démocratique du Congo (Ministry of Higher and University Education of the Democratic Republic of the Congo), Université Méthodiste au Katanga (UMK) is a coeducational Congolese higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Methodist religion. Université Méthodiste au Katanga (UMK) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UMK also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
