Founded in 1991, Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Marne-la-Vallée (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Ile-de-France. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l'Innovation, France (Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of France), Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (UPEM) is a large coeducational French higher education institution.
