Founded in 2000, Universitas Islam Makassar (Islamic University of Makassar) is a private higher-education institution located in the metropolis of Makassar (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), South Sulawesi. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Islam Makassar is a small coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Universitas Islam Makassar offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.
