Established in 1970, Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau (Sulthan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University of Riau) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large city of Pekanbaru (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Riau. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau (UIN Suska) is a large coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau (UIN Suska) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. UIN Suska also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
