Founded in 1952, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (Islamic University of North Sumatra) is a private higher-education institution located in the metropolis of Medan (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), North Sumatra. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU) is a small coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UISU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, as well as administrative services.
