Founded in 1955, Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (Parahyangan Catholic University) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Bandung (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), West Java. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) is a large coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Catholic religion. Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 67 years old Indonesian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UNPAR also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
