Established in 1996, Universitas Kristen Surakarta (Christian University of Surakarta) is a private higher-education institution located in the metropolis of Surakarta (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Central Java. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Kristen Surakarta (UKS) is a very small coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Protestant religion. Universitas Kristen Surakarta (UKS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UKS also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
