Established in 1984, Universitas Merdeka Ponorogo (Free University of Ponorogo) is a private higher-education institution located in the large city of Ponorogo (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), East Java. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Merdeka Ponorogo (UMP) is a very small coeducational Indonesian higher education institution. Universitas Merdeka Ponorogo (UMP) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UMP also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
