Established in 1981, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember (Muhammadiyah University of Jember) is a private higher-education institution located in the metropolis of Jember (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), East Java. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember is a medium-sized coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.
