Founded in 1990, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak (Muhammadiyah University of Pontianak) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Pontianak (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), West Kalimantan. This institution also has a branch campus in Sintang. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak (UM Pontianak) is a small coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak (UM Pontianak) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
