Established in 1999, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo) is a private higher-education institution located in the large city of Purworejo (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Central Java. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMP) is a small coeducational Indonesian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMP) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. UMP also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
