Founded in 1954, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (Indonesia University of Education) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Bandung (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), West Java. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) is a very large coeducational Indonesian higher education institution. Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 67 years old Indonesian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades.
