Established in 1969, Universiteti i Prishtinës (University of Prishtina) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Prishtina (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Republic of Kosovo. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Gjilan, Pejë, Prizren, Ferizaj, Gjakovë, Mitrovicë. Officially recognized by the Ministria e Arsimit, e Shkencës dhe e Teknologjisë, Republika e Kosovës (Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Kosovo Republic), Universiteti i Prishtinës is a coeducational Serbian higher education institution. Universiteti i Prishtinës offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 52 years old Serbian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. Universiteti i Prishtinës also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
