Founded in 1956, Universiti Teknologi MARA (MARA University of Technology) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Shah Alam (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Selangor. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Petaling Jaya, Puncak Alam City. Officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is a very large coeducational Malaysian higher education institution. Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
