Established in 1998, University College of Applied Sciences is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Gaza City (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Gaza Strip. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Palestinian Territory, University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS) is a very small coeducational Palestinian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 24 years old Palestinian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this Palestinian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. UCAS also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
