Founded in 2010, University of Garmian is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Kalar (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Kurdistan. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Kifri, Khanaqin. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, University of Garmian (UG) is a very small coeducational Iraqi higher education institution. University of Garmian (UG) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. The admission rate range is 90-100% making this Iraqi higher education organization a least selective institution. UG also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
