Founded in 1962, University of Jordan is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Amman (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan, University of Jordan (UJ) is a very large coeducational Jordanian higher education institution. University of Jordan (UJ) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 60 years old Jordanian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UJ also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
