Founded in 1996, University of Medical Sciences and Technology is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the rural setting of the large metropolis of Khartoum (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Sudan, University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST) is a small coeducational Sudanese higher education institution. University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 26 years old Sudanese higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this Sudanese higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UMST also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, as well as administrative services.
