Founded in 1927, University of Medicine 1, Yangon is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large metropolis of Yangon (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Health and Sports of Myanmar, University of Medicine 1, Yangon (UM1) is a small coeducational Burmese higher education institution. University of Medicine 1, Yangon (UM1) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UM1 also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
