Founded in 2012, University of Samarra is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the medium city of Samarra (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Saladin. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research of Iraq, University of Samarra (UOS) is a small coeducational Iraqi higher education institution. University of Samarra (UOS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 10 years old Iraqi higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. The admission rate range is 60-70% making this Iraqi higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UOS also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, online courses and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.
