Founded in 2011, University of the Highlands and Islands is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large town of Inverness (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Scotland. Officially recognized/chartered by the Privy Council, University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) is a medium-sized coeducational UK higher education institution.
