Established in 2005, University of the Visual and Performing Arts is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Colombo (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Western Province. Officially recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, University of the Visual and Performing Arts is a medium-sized coeducational Sri Lankan higher education institution. University of the Visual and Performing Arts offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. University of the Visual and Performing Arts also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
