Established in 1994, University of Zalingei is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large town of Zalingei (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Central Darfur. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Sudan, University of Zalingei is a coeducational Sudanese higher education institution. University of Zalingei offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. University of Zalingei also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
