Founded in 1996, Université Libre de Kigali (Kigali Independent University) is a private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Kigali (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Kigali Province. This institution also has a branch campus in Gisenyi. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Rwanda, Université Libre de Kigali (ULK) is a coeducational Rwandan higher education institution. Université Libre de Kigali (ULK) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. ULK also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
