Founded in 1867, Université Publique de l'Artibonite aux Gonaïves (Public University of Gonaïves in Artibonite) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the small city of Gonaïves (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Artibonite Department. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale et de la Formation Professionnelle, Haiti (Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training of Haiti), Université Publique de l'Artibonite aux Gonaïves (UPAG) is a coeducational Haitian higher education institution. Université Publique de l'Artibonite aux Gonaïves (UPAG) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UPAG also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
