Founded in 1977, Univerzitet Demal Bijedic u Mostaru (Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Mostar (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. This institution also has a branch campus in Sarajevo. Officially recognized by the Ministarstvo prosvjete, znanosti, kulture i porta Hercegovacko-neretvanske upanije (Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton), Univerzitet Demal Bijedic u Mostaru (DBU) is a small coeducational Bosnian and Herzegovinian higher education institution. Univerzitet Demal Bijedic u Mostaru (DBU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 45 years old Bosnian and Herzegovinian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. DBU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, study abroad and exchange programs, online courses and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.
