Established in 1986, Urmia University of Medical Sciences is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Urmia (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), West Azerbaijan. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran, Urmia University of Medical Sciences is a small coeducational Iranian higher education institution. Urmia University of Medical Sciences offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 36 years old Iranian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. Urmia University of Medical Sciences also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, as well as administrative services.
