Founded in 2005, Uva Wellassa University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large town of Badulla (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Uva Province. Officially recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, Uva Wellassa University (UWU) is a small coeducational Sri Lankan higher education institution. Uva Wellassa University (UWU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. UWU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, as well as administrative services.
