Founded in 1946, Wonkwang University is a private higher-education institution located in the medium city of Iksan (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), North Jeolla. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Korea, Wonkwang University (WKU) is a coeducational South Korean higher education institution formally affiliated with the Buddhist religion. Wonkwang University (WKU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. WKU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, financial aids and/or scholarships, as well as administrative services.
