Founded in 1933, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Cagayan de Oro City (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Northern Mindanao. Officially recognized by the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan (XU) is a large coeducational Philippine higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Catholic religion.
