Founded in 1988, Yazd University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Yazd (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Saduq, Hamidiya, Zarach, Shahediyeh. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran, Yazd University (YU) is a large coeducational Iranian higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Yazd University (YU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 34 years old Iranian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. YU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
