Established in 1997, Youngsan University of Son Studies is a private higher-education institution located in the small city of Yeonggwang-gun (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South Jeolla. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Korea, Youngsan University of Son Studies is a coeducational South Korean higher education institution formally affiliated with the Buddhist religion. Youngsan University of Son Studies offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
