Founded in 2001, Zuyd Hogeschool (Zuyd University of Applied Sciences) is a private higher-education institution located in the small city of Heerlen (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Limburg. Officially recognized by the Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie (Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders), Zuyd Hogeschool (Zuyd) is a large coeducational Dutch higher education institution.
